Steve Okonek from Trempealeau County UWEX and Trisha Wagner from Jackson County UWEX hosted a Transition Cow meeting in Blair, WI for dairy farmers. I presented a talk on the effects of body condition score change and mastitis during the postfresh period on reproductive performance, Dr. Gary Oetzel from the UW School of Veterinary Medicine spoke on monitoring and treating ketosis during the postfresh period, and Dr. Dave Kammel from UW-Madison spoke on housing strategies for transition cows. An evening meeting will be held in Hixton, WI for dairy professionals and veterinarians. The group in attendance at the meeting in Blair is pictured below.
